Welcome back to BrainCamp News. We have been on hiatus the last few months, taking time to talk to members of our industry, assess the current state of the market, consider how our industry can best move forward and how we here at BrainCamp News can help.

It will come as no surprise to any of you that times are tough out there in the kids’ entertainment industry. In a tough economy, it is hard to keep existing projects going and even harder to get new projects off the ground. Money is tight, both for development and for consumers to make purchases. It is a time for creators and producers to regroup, figure out how to do more with less and to make sure they are ready when the economy finally turns around.

Here at BrainCamp, we have gotten the message that this is not the year for a large expensive conference. Therefore, we have put this year’s BrainCamp conference on hold. We are exploring other smaller, less expensive formats in which we can continue to bring members of our industry together. We know how many people have benefitted from the information and networking at the BrainCamp conference, and we will find ways for you to continue to enjoy these benefits.

In the meantime, we will use this newsletter not only to bring you industry news, but also to bring you periodic articles related directly to your business, and ways you can protect your property and interests. It is our hope that, through these articles, we can help you build your businesses, even in these tough times.

Please let us know if there are topics you would like us to address. We will be concentrating on legal issues relating to your projects and business. Now is the time to make sure that you are properly protected, corporately and with regards to your copyrights and trademarks. BrainCamp president Howard Leib, Esq. is available, should you need legal services in connection with your business or project.

In times like these, it is important to remember that the sun will shine again. Our industry has been through tough times in the past, and come out stronger than before. We will do so again! In the meantime, we at BrainCamp News are here to help.
